What To Expect At The GMAT Test Center

Even though the majority of test-takers know exactly what to anticipate on the GMAT test itself, most show up on test day unaware of what to expect from the actual examination center. Every student should be aware what will take place at the Pearson Center before and after their test. Therefore let’s go over a bit of the logistics for the big day

First, always get to the examination center early. If you arrive late, you might not be permitted to take the exam. Furthermore, should you get there early you will actually be permitted to begin your exam upon arrival. For that reason, it is strongly recommended that you show up at least 30 minutes before your slated start time. Make certain you bring along necessary id, as spelled out on GMAC’s MBA.com website.

When in the center, you cannot bring any of your own belongings into the exam room. This may include your watch, scrap paper, foodstuff, and drinking water. Even so, you are given a locker where you can put your stuff. You can enter this locker at your break, if you have a snack inside; however do not intend to do this should you have any study supplies with you. Once you place those supplies in your locker, you will not be permitted to enter it until the exam ends. In addition, you need to be mindful with visiting your locker a lot during the break simply from a timing perspective—your breaks are JUST 8 minutes, and the computer/time will begin without you once that 8 minutes is up.

Finally, keep in mind that people are taking exams besides the GMAT and exams are beginning constantly. Therefore students are likely to be moving about the room when you are taking the exam, therefore do not anticipate complete silence during the GMAT. You are presented earplugs once you show up, so keep the above in mind if you are going to take them or not.

If you understand what to anticipate, the test center will not likely supply any surprises and your GMAT should go smoothly. Best of luck to you on Exam Day.
